The political arena has found a new friction point: the celestial. Recently, former President Barack Obama stated in a television interview that “aliens are real.” In a predictable move, Donald Trump responded by claiming Obama had disclosed classified data—an assertion with little legal merit—and countered by promising to authorize the declassification of government documents on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

However, there is little a sitting president can authorize that would equate to meaningful disclosure regarding the complex history of UAP. This declaration appears, at first glance, to be a display of competitiveness with a more popular predecessor. It is also likely a maneuver to bolster a public approval rating that currently sits in tatters.

The Credibility Gap

Recent public testimony in Congress by whistleblowers—including highly decorated service members and high-clearance civilians—has testified to the reality of UAPs. These witnesses have described how these phenomena interact with military pilots and have even interfered with nuclear weapons at secure facilities. Furthermore, these whistleblowers have identified significant ideological conflicts between senior government departments and private military-industrial corporations engaged in the reverse-engineering of exotic, downed craft.

A Legacy of Disinformation

The layers of information regarding the UAP phenomenon stretch back over 80 years, a period unfortunately peppered with purposeful public disinformation. Military personnel have been besmirched for reporting sightings, leading to ruined lives and unjustly ended careers. Simultaneously, the ridiculing of credible civilians has been merciless.

Consider the “Phoenix Lights” of March 13, 1997. Thousands in Arizona and Nevada witnessed a massive, silent, V-shaped craft. Officials dismissed it as military flares—an explanation that failed to survive scrutiny. Governor Fife Symington even held a press conference where his chief of staff appeared in a “Martian” costume to mock researchers. Years later, Symington issued a meager apology, admitting he had also witnessed the craft and had only staged the stunt to prevent public hysteria. His constituents, understandably, remained disappointed by the mockery.

The Darker Side of the Secret

Modern whistleblowers like David Grusch, a former USAF intelligence official, have taken these claims further, testifying under oath about the recovery of “biologics” from downed craft and even the alleged assassination of witnesses. We now know that the UAP arena is a battlefield of competing stakeholders. On one side are military officials with fundamentalist beliefs who view the phenomenon as “demonic”; on the other are those who view the technology as a source of immense profit and military advantage. This “demonic” framing has been used to silence internal discussion and revoke security clearances, leaving one to wonder: how can a rational government operate under such medieval interpretations?

The Limits of Executive Power

In truth, we may not need government “disclosure” to recognize the complexities of Non-Human Intelligence (NHI). We know their craft defy the known laws of physics—manipulating time, space, and gravity. We know they can influence human consciousness. Some encounters suggest a deep concern for our environment and our nuclear risks, with NHI reportedly activating or deactivating weapons systems to demonstrate our vulnerability.

While some encounters result in profound knowledge or physical healing, others are chillingly violent. From the 1977 “Operation Prato” incidents in Colares, Brazil, to the 2023 reports from the Ikitu tribe in Peru, human beings have suffered radiation injuries, harassment, and violations.

Divergent Agendas: Resource vs. Relation

Tom DeLonge, a prominent and politically connected researcher, suggests through his meta-analysis of the data that we are likely dealing with differing species with differing agendas—some benevolent, others exploitative.

Matthew Brown, a former U.S. National Security official and whistleblower, adds an even darker layer. Brown suggests moving beyond the anthropocentric view that NHIs are here to “save” or “guide” us. Instead, he posits that humanity may be viewed as a resource. He cautions that we cannot rule out the possibility that our species is being subjected to a vast, long-term experiment, or even used for “intelligence gathering” or “entertainment.” In this framework, Earth is a “testbed” for shaping consciousness, where our conflicts are observed with clinical detachment.

This perspective challenges the “demonic” or “angelic” binaries used by religiously conservative officials, suggesting instead a relationship defined by a massive technological and evolutionary disparity.

Phenomenological Knowledge about NHI

Phenomenology is a powerful tool for examining the nature of NHI encounters. At its core, phenomenology is the philosophical study of human experience. Rather than focusing on what an object is “in reality” (the physical matter), it focuses on how that object is perceived and felt by human consciousness.

In the context of this article, phenomenological analysis is the difference between studying a “UAP craft” and studying both the profound sense of peace or terror a person might feel when they encounter NHI. A helpful approach to this inquiry are the testimonies of experiencers.

Dr. Ítalo Venturelli

Dr. Ítalo Venturelli, is a prominent neurosurgeon who broke a thirty-year silence in the 2022 documentary Moment of Contact. Venturelli was summoned to treat an “alien” entity apprehended by local authorities in Varginha, Brazil. While the military treated the being as a biological specimen or a threat, Venturelli’s experience was one of profound mental and spiritual communion. He described a “transfer of meaning” from the being that bypassed spoken language entirely. It was like an encounter between two species at the level of the soul.

Venturelli described this encounter as a deeply “empathetic” exchange. Despite the being’s injury and captivity, Venturelli felt it was fundamentally “at peace.” The entity radiated a complex sentience that stood in stark contrast to the fear and confusion of its captors. Most remarkably, Venturelli reported a feeling of “compassion” and “gratitude” emanating from the being toward him. This was like a silent acknowledgment to humanity that our species lacks the current conscious framework to understand the complexity of NHI.

Jacob Barber

In January 2025, Whistleblower, Jacob Barber, a man with thirty years of experience in the intelligence community and government and private sector partnerships was interviewed by investigative journalist, Ross Coulthart on News Nation. Barber talked about a recovery operation involving an “egg-shaped” UAP Craft. He became visibly emotional and tearful when describing what felt like a profound sense of connection to an energy coming from the craft which he characterised as like a divine feminine energy. He said that it was like the feminine “spirit of God”. This encounter was not an ephemeral, passing phenomenon. He has retained it in his being. He said that this experience today works within him like a guiding inner compass and a protective force.

Conclusion: Discerning Promises of Official Disclosure

The “faces” of Non-Human Intelligence are manifold, and the experiences they elicit are equally diverse. For over fifty years, scientist and polymath Jacques Vallée has investigated these phenomena through a meticulous, multidisciplinary lens, synthesising data from hard science, history, religion, and mythology. Vallée famously posits that the phenomenon functions as a “control mechanism” for human consciousness. Rather than a simple visitation, he views it as a sophisticated system designed to guide, or perhaps manipulate, our social evolution and belief structures over vast stretches of time.

We must be skeptical of any “disclosure” authorized by President Trump as a “Holy Grail.” Such disclosure will likely be partial, unremarkable, and disconnected from any holistic thinking. Neither Trump nor any president before him has been granted access to the information buried under layers of intentionally siloed bureaucracy. These systems were designed to bamboozle inquiry and maintain a monopoly on the truth.

Do not be distracted by the promise of a “reveal” from the top. Instead, analyze what is already hidden in plain sight. Draw upon interdisciplinary research, credible testimonials, and the collective insights of those seeking genuine answers. Trust your instincts and intuition to navigate the data, using the gifts of compassionate mindfulness and deep spiritual practices to evolve your consciousness and refine your wisdom.

The heart-centered energies of love, gratitude, humility, and compassion are humanity’s greatest superpower. By grounding ourselves in compassionate intention and service, we gain access to a deeper level of knowledge; one that acts as a vital spiritual safeguard against nefarious or manipulative forms of control, whether human or nonhuman.

If, as Matthew Brown suggests, we are seen as a resource or a study by some forms of NHI, the government’s secrecy becomes futile. How do you classify the intentions of a scientist who doesn’t acknowledge the laboratory mice as peers? We don’t need a presidential mandate to grant us understanding. Whatever the various agendas of these NHIs, we are unlikely to learn any deep truths about them from officials driven by their own ideologies and political agendas.
